Stanley cup recall 2024: Full list of travel mug models shoppers urged to stop using

STANLEY has issued a recall for 2.6 million of its Switchback and Trigger Action travel mugs.

Here we take a look at the reason behind their removal from shop shelves and which models are affected.

Reason for recall

The recall of Stanley mugs was initiated due to a defect in the mug’s lid.

When exposed to heat and torque, the lid threads can shrink, causing the lid to detach during use.

This poses a significant burn hazard, especially when the mug contains hot beverages.

Reported incidents

Stanley has received 91 reports worldwide of lids coming loose while in use, resulting in 38 burn injuries.

In the US alone, there have been 16 reported incidents, including two burn injuries.

Of the global burn injuries reported so far, 11 required medical attention.
