A WHOLE Foods employee has confirmed a significant change to a popular baked good.
The shocking adjustment was discovered by a customer during a recent trip to her local store.

“I just received the worst news ever in my entire life,” the Whole Foods shopper, Lisa (@mylegalera), said during a September 21 clip on TikTok.
“Whole Foods is discontinuing the Berry Chantilly Cake we all know and love.”
The Berry Chantilly Cake is a beloved and highly popular offering from the Whole Foods bakery section, made with fresh berries and Chantilly cream mixed in between vanilla cake pieces, per the retailer’s website.
“It’s so irresistible, in fact, that people have been known to stand in line for it through power outages and impending natural disasters (true story),” Whole Foods wrote of the Berry Chantilly Cake.
It advertised the cake as ideal for any holiday or special occasion, with the ability to be customized at shoppers’ discretion.
Lisa said she typically “gets a slice on a weekly basis, religiously,” in her video.
After heading in for her weekly piece earlier this month, there were supposedly none to be found.
Desperate, she asked an employee about the Berry Chantilly Cake, and they broke the unexpected news.
SAVINGS SLICED
“He was like ‘Oh, we’re actually changing the recipe — we don’t do it like that anymore,’” Lisa recalled.
She said the employee told her that the Berry Chantilly Cakes now arrive frozen, without the signature fruit in the middle of the pieces.
The employee also allegedly told Lisa that the price would go up for the cake along with the fruit removal.
Fortunately, there’s still a way to get the “original” Berry Chantilly Cakes, according to Whole Foods’ statement to NBC affiliate WMAQ.
That would be through only full-sized cakes that are made in the bakery.
It seems that just the individual slices will be made differently.
Chantilly Cake Options at Whole Foods
Whole Foods currently offers at least three Chantilly cakes for customers to choose from and customize.

ALL OR NOTHING
Lisa decided that she’d buy the full cake, which comes in different sizes and can be as much as $40 for a large.
“Whole Foods — if you see this, I’m really, really disappointed,” the customer professed.
Lisa’s post went viral, garnering over 120,000 likes, with several Whole Foods shoppers expressing their sadness and disbelief.
“Just fell to my knees omg??” someone asked.
“NO I GET THIS CAKE FOR MY BIRTHDAY EVERY YEAR” another wrote.
“I WILL be buying a whole cake then every time I go,” a third added.
A shopper also recently saved $38 at the retailer with its “surprise bag” for just $17.
Whole Foods also issued plans to open at least 30 new stores earlier this year.
