The seven-time Super Bowl champion began his 10-year, $375 million deal with the network this season.

He has stepped into the top Fox broadcast booth alongside Kevin Burkhardt.

But Brady’s start has been far from smooth.

The 47-year-old had his part ownership of the Las Vegas Raiders confirmed.

And that placed restrictions on his role with Fox which made his job incredibly tough.

One thing he’s not allowed to do is criticize officials – which almost landed him in hot water earlier this month.

But Fox is keen to help Brady develop having made a long-term commitment to the NFL icon.

According to a report from John Ourand in Puck, the results of the meetings between Fox producers and Brady are already starting to show.

“When most players leave the NFL for the broadcast booth, they immediately lean on X’s and O’s as their crutch,” Ourand wrote.

“Seemingly every play, they dissect gaps and blocking schemes.

“In his first 10 games as Fox Sports’ top analyst, Tom Brady has instead focused on things you don’t find in a playbook: pointing out the leadership of stars, focusing on the development of young players, and looking for accountability among veterans.

“Fox producers have been pushing Brady to incorporate more of what he’s seeing on the field—duh—into his commentary.

“And these sorts of observations—why a play worked or fell apart—are starting to pop up more frequently on the broadcast.”

Brady was visibly stunned to learn live on Sunday’s show that he would be working Thanksgiving.

The former quarterback had the news broken to him by Fox NFL Sunday star Michael Strahan and host Curt Menefee.

What rules Brady must stick too

Here is a list of the rules Tom Brady must comply to…

Not permitted to be in another team’s facility
Not permitted to witness practice
Not permitted to attend broadcast production meetings, either in person or virtually
Prohibited from publicly criticizing game officials and other teams
Subject to the league’s gambling policy
Subject to the league’s anti-tampering policies, limiting him to “strictly social communication with members of other clubs”

Menefee said, “He said: “Hey Tom, Strahan’s first year, he learned that he actually had to work on Thanksgiving Day.”

“He thought he had it off. Did they tell you that before you came? You have to work on Thanksgiving Day this year!”

The retired quarterback jokingly reacted with a shocked face and said: “What?!”

And Strahan told him, “Don’t feel bad about it! When we don’t show up one Thanksgiving, we’ll be having Thanksgiving together”.

Brady will call the New York Giants against Dallas Cowboys game on Fox on Thanksgiving.
