The playful episode happened on Fox’s special edition Thanksgiving show Thursday.

The Fox NFL Sunday crew were on call ahead of the networks’ coverage of the New York Giants against the Dallas Cowboys.

And they were discussing the NFC East matchup when Long turned to confront Bradshaw.

Long was discussing the public nature of New York’s locker room issues playing out.

“I don’t have a problem with what was said,” he insisted.

“I had a problem that is was done publicly.

“You do it in the locker room.

“I’m going to walk up to you and tell you face to face ‘you’re soft.’”

Long delivered the last part of his speech while face to face with Bradshaw to emphasize his point.

But the 76-year-old didn’t back down from a man 12 years his junior.

“You’re talking to the wrong guy,” Bradshaw fired back.

Long laughed off his response as Menefee asked Bradshaw if he needed holding back.

Bradshaw, Long, Menefee and Michael Strahan were handed double holiday duty by Fox.

The quartet will all be on Fox NFL Sunday just three days after working Thanksgiving.

Jimmy Johnson was also on the Thanksgiving show, but he will be off Sunday.

The original Tom Brady

Tom Brady was left lost for words after Terry Bradshaw admitted he used his identity.

Host Curt Menefee drew Brady’s attention to a 1983 newspaper report that a man called Thomas Brady underwent surgery.

That was actually Bradshaw while he was still in his playing days with the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Bradshaw won four Super Bowls in his 13-year career under center in Pittsburgh.

The former Steelers quarterback explained, “When I checked in they said ‘you’re not going to get checked in under your name because you’ll get hassled, what do you want to go under?’

“I said, ‘Put me under Thomas Brady.’

“That’s how it happened.”

The former Dallas Cowboys coach will instead be replaced by Rob Gronkowski.

Ex-Patriots tight end Gronkowski missed the Thanksgiving show having also been absent from Week 12’s Fox NFL Sunday.

Tom Brady and Kevin Burkhardt were on the call for the Giants and Cowboys clash at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.

Fox’s top team were also given Thanksgiving weekend off having worked the holiday.

The network will air five games Sunday across two windows – but none of them with Brady and Burkhardt in the booth.
