Showers, thunderstorms expected Tuesday morning, again in night hours

National Weather Service officials are expecting showers and possibly a thunderstorm to blow through the Chicago area before 10 a.m. Tuesday, the afternoon and again in the night hours.

Officials said there is a 70 percent chance of precipitation in portions in north central and northeast Illinois including northwest Indiana.

Officials said showers and possibly a thunderstorm are expected to hit the Chicago and surrounding areas before 10 a.m. and again after 1 p.m. Tuesday.

Current conditions at Midway Airport are thunderstorms at 77 degrees. Farther north at O’Hare International Airport, conditions are light rain at 72 degrees.

Tuesday night, there is a 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms before 10 p.m. with temperatures in the low 70s.
