First responders rushed to reports of a boat on fire in the waters off Broward County.
According to authorities, just before 6:00 p.m. they received multiple 911 calls regarding an explosion and subsequent boat fire at Lauderdale Marina located at 1900 SE 15 St.
Upon arrival, crews found a significant fire involving one boat which then spread to a second vessel.
Several people were injured as a result.
Authorities said five people were rushed to area hospitals, three of which were suffering from what were described as traumatic injuries.
A search was underway for a sixth victim who was reported missing in the water.
