Sitting courtside at the Knicks game did not go according to script for Oscar winner Anne Hathaway.
Knicks forward OG Anunoby nearly collided with Hathaway on Wednesday night after a steal attempt took him near her seat at Madison Square Garden and caused him to knock over the popcorn that was resting in front of her.
The viral moment occurred after Anunoby reached out and tipped an errant pass by Josh Giddey during the Knicks’ 124-123 loss to the Chicago Bulls.
Anunoby’s momentum took him to the sideline, and he took one step up a courtside barrier that Hathaway and her son Jack were sitting behind.

The close call earned a smile from Hathaway and a stunned look from Jack, but the popcorn that appeared to spill on them could not be spared.
“There’s always more popcorn, young man,” play-by-play announcer Mike Breen said on the MSG Network broadcast.
Hathaway, 42, was born in Brooklyn, spent part of her childhood in New Jersey and studied at Vassar College in Poughkeepsie and at NYU.
She is known for films such as “The Princess Diaries” and “The Devil Wears Prada,” and she won Best Supporting Actress at the Academy Awards for “Les Misérables” in 2013.
