AN NFL veteran received the pink slip from the Denver Broncos with just five weeks left of the 2024 season.
The Broncos waived wide receiver Josh Reynolds on Tuesday.

The Broncos made the move to cut Reynolds after they designated Reynolds to return from injured reserve on November 13.
They decided against the option of moving Reynolds to the 53-player roster this week or keeping him on injured reserve to retain him.
The waive of Reynolds comes as the rookie wideouts Devaughn Vele and Troy Franklin have received playing time along with second-year Marvin Mims.
Denver could still sign Reynolds to a practice squad contract if he clears waivers on Wednesday.
If he goes unclaimed, Reynolds would be a free agent and able to sign with any squad.
The 29-year-old Reynolds recorded just 12 receptions for 183 yards and one touchdown in five games.
He suffered a fractured finger on his lone touchdown catch during an October 6 game versus the Las Vegas Raiders.
Reynolds signed a two-year, $9 million deal with the Broncos in 2024 free agency.
Denver will have to pay him $4.2 million guaranteed.
Reynolds has been on injured reserve since the hand injury, but he was also the victim of a drive-by shooting in October.
The shooting took place in Denver as Reynolds suffered what police labeled as “non-threatening” head and left arm injuries.
Reynolds hasn’t opened up about the incident which saw two men arrested in connection to the shooting.
The Detroit Lions could have an interest in signing Reynolds.
The eight-year NFL veteran has played in Detroit the last three seasons, posting 97 receptions for 1,393 yards and 10 touchdowns during that span.
Last season, Reynolds recorded 40 catches and 32 of them were for first downs.
The 11-1 Lions could also use a reliable option outside of Ama-Ron St. Brown and Jameson Williams.
Reynolds began his career as a fourth-round draft pick of the Los Angeles Rams where he played there for four seasons.
He had a career year in his final season in Los Angeles, totaling 52 receptions for 618 yards and starting 13 of 16 games.
During his career, Reynolds has earned $16.7 million.
