Naper Nights concert series planned for Aug. 15 and 16
Naper Nights will have its last concert series of the summer from 5 to 10 p.m. Friday, Aug. 15 and Saturday, Aug. 16 at Naper Settlement, 523 S. Webster St.
Performances Friday include Bears Gone Phishin’, a tribute to Widespread Panic, Grateful Dead and Phish, and Cream Cheese Accident, a tribute to the String Cheese Incident.
On Saturday, Wilclone, a Wilco tribute band, and the Great American Taxi will perform.
Tickets are $25 for adults and $15 for children ages 4 to 12 years old.
All August tickets bought by Wednesday, Aug. 13 will be entered for a chance to be upgraded with dinner, drinks and access to the sponsor area.

Park District announces late-season hours
The Naperville Park District has updated its hours on some of its seasonal facilities as summer draws to a close, district officials announced.
The late-season hours affect Centennial Beach, Paddleboat Quarry and the Millennium Carillon tours. District officials noted in a news release that beach staff is especially impacted as many high school and college students return to school.
Centennial Beach will be closed Thursday, Aug. 14 and will be open from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, Aug. 15, Monday, Aug. 18 and Tuesday, Aug. 19.
The beach will be closed from Wednesday, Aug. 20 to Friday, Aug. 22 and from Monday, Aug. 25 to Friday, Aug. 29.
On the weekends, Centennial Beach will be open from 9 a.m. to 10:55 a.m. Saturdays, Aug. 16, 23 and 30 and Sundays, Aug. 17, 24 and 31 for adult float.
Weekend hours for open swim include 11 a.m. to dusk Saturdays and from 11a.m. to 6 p.m. Sundays throughout the rest of August.
Centennial Beach will wrap up its season Monday, Sept. 1 with an adult float for members only from 9 to 10:55 a.m. and an open swim from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
The weekend-only schedule for the Paddleboat Quarry will start Saturday, Aug. 16 and run through September as weather and staffing permits, park district officials said.
Tours at the Millennium Carillon in Moser Tower will also take place on weekends only through September.
The two splash pads at Wolf’s Crossing Community Park and at the 95th Street Community Plaza will be open daily from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. through Labor Day.
Fort Hill Wellness Series includes presentation on gastroesophageal reflux disease
Dr. Ravi Prakash and Dr. Michael Sherrow will talk about gastroesophageal reflux disease, or GERD, as part of Fort Hill Wellness Series.
The presentation, “Medical and Surgical Options for GERD,” will take place at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 27 at the Fort Hill Activity Center, 20 Fort Hill Dr.
The presentation is free for Fort Hill fitness members, but they must register in person at the activity center or by calling 630-995-8900.
Nonmembers may register for the event for $5 on the park district’s website, www.napervilleparks.org.
GERD is caused when stomach acid flows into the esophagus and causes heartburn, according to a park district news release that announced the presentation. If untreated, it can cause permanent damage to the tissue lining of the esophagus. Treatments range from over-the-counter medication to surgery, the release said.
Tickets on sale now for Fall Wine Walk
Tickets are on sale for the popular Fall Wine Walk through Downtown Naperville.
The walk will take place from noon to 5 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 21. Start times will be staggered, and participants will check in at Sullivan’s Steakhouse, 244 S. Main St., where they will receive a tasting glass and a map of the wine stops.
The event features 13 wine tastings from around the world and small bites from Tapville, Sixty-Four – Wine Bar and Kitchen and Davanti Enoteca.
BusyButternut Catering will be offering savory charcuterie cups for guests to enjoy during the self-paced wine walk.
The event costs $60 per person with a portion of proceeds helping the Naperville Woman’s Club. A limited number of tickets is available.

DuPage County Animal Services offering vaccine clinics, pet CPR
DuPage County Animal Services will host a free vaccine and microchip clinic from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Monday, Sept. 8 at its Wheaton location, 140 N. County Farm Road.
The clinic is for DuPage County residents, who must bring proof of county residency. The line will open at 5 p.m. and there is a limit of two animals per household, a county newsletter said.
The clinic will provide cat and dog rabies and distemper vaccines and cat, dog and rabbit microchips and registration.
Animal services is also hosting a pet CPR and first aid workshop from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 13, the newsletter said.
The cost is $100 per participant, and each participant must be at least 16 years old.
The course teaches pet owners first aid techniques to address common emergencies with cats and dogs. Participants will also learn pre-vet care and life-saving techniques.
Limited space is available. A future session will be held Jan. 10, 2026.
