Man dies in Northbrook hit and run Thursday, police say

Northbrook first responders said a man was killed in an apparent hit and run early Thursday, May 1.

After receiving an emergency call at 1:01 a.m., the fire department arrived at the emergency scene in the 2900 block of Shermer Road at 1:05 a.m, according to Northbrook Deputy Fire Chief Joel Eaton.

Northbrook police said they secured the area and that a deceased male, described as a man in his 50s, is yet to be identified, per a news release. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators are working to determine the circumstances of the individual’s death, but have confirmed that the individual was on foot and was struck by a vehicle, and that the vehicle did not remain on the scene, they said.
