Man, 58, found dead in Bronx apartment under mysterious circumstances

A 58-year-old man was found dead in his Bronx apartment under mysterious circumstances, police said Tuesday.

Cops responding to a 911 call about a foul odor found the man’s door unlocked inside the building with affordable units for senior citizens on Elsmere Place near Southern Blvd. in West Farms about 10:30 a.m. Monday.

The man was dead inside with what appeared to be a trauma wound on his back. His name was not immediately released.

The city Medical Examiner will conduct an autopsy to determine how the man died.
