The national anthem was performed by Lanell Lightfoot as the ESPN cameras showed numerous players during the performance.
One of the players was the Chiefs star Jones, who was seen in tears on the sideline.
Jones then had multiple tears rushing down his face.
The six-time Pro Bowler is no stranger to showing his emotions during the national anthem.
Jones also cried during the national anthem before the Chiefs’ Super Bowl win in Las Vegas last February against the San Francisco 49ers.
Social media users were in awe of Jones’ latest national anthem reaction.
“Always a privilege to play at this level, love the passion!” one commented.
“To me, that’s cinema,” another wrote.
“Yeah it’s over for the Texans,” a third added.
“This guy is the ultimate X factor,” a fourth stated.
Jones also seemed emotional in another sequence before the game.
Underdog Fantasy’s NFL reporter James Palmer posted a video of Jones appearing to pray in the tunnel at the Chiefs’ stadium before walking out onto the field.
“Chris Jones takes a moment to be alone before taking the field,” Palmer wrote in the caption of the X clip.
Jones made his presence known early on in the game, posting a sack on Texans star quarterback C.J. Stroud.
The veteran has played for the Chiefs since he was selected by the team in the second round of the 2016 NFL Draft.

After recording back-to-back 10-plus campaigns, last March, Jones signed a five-year contract with Kansas City worth $158.7 million.
This season, however, Jones recorded just five sacks in 15 games.
Jones has three Super Bowls on his resume, and he will look to add one more as the No. 1 seeded Chiefs prepare to play their rivals on Saturday.
If Kansas City wins, they will play the winner of the Baltimore Ravens-Buffalo Bills matchup next week.
The victor of that will square off against the NFC Champion team in the Super Bowl in New Orleans on February 9.
