Influencer couple Stacey Tourout and Matthew Yeomans have died in a tragic off-roading accident in British Columbia.
“With unimaginable heartache, the families of Matthew Peter Yeomans and Stacey Tourout would like to advise that we lost them both tragically succumbing to injuries in an offroad accident on Aug 7, 2025 in the beautiful mountains of British Columbia that they loved so much,” their family announced Monday in a statement on Facebook.
“Please keep us and them in your thoughts and prayers as we navigate this devastating end to an amazing love story,” the message continued. “They are together forever as we knew they would always be.”
The couple, who ran the Toyota World Runners YouTube channel — showcasing their off-road adventures to over 200,000 subscribers — died on Thursday after reportedly losing control of their vehicle on rough terrain, according to the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation.
Kaslo Search and Rescue confirmed they were called to the scene of the incident at around 6:30 p.m. local time.
“Kaslo Search and Rescue received a call regarding a serious motor vehicle rollover near Silver Cup Ridge, adjacent to Trout Lake, high in the Purcell Range,” read a statement from Kaslo SAR.
“Upon arrival, the team located one individual with no vital signs and a second person, found away from the crash site, who was disoriented and suffering from serious injuries,” the rescue service said. “The injured subject was stabilized and flown to Nakusp Hospital, where she sadly passed away later that evening.”
Yeomans was also transported to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Mark Jennings-Bates, a manager with Kaslo SAR, said he’s unsure whether the couple was filming at the time of the incident.
An exact cause of the crash is also unclear, though Jennings-Bates said the vehicle had fallen about 650 feet down a rockfield and would have rolled “many, many times” before coming to the bottom, according to the CBC.
In April of last year, the social media couple got engaged, sharing the sweet moment Yeomans popped the question on Facebook.
Days before their deaths, their last Instagram post read, “Really just soaking up all of these Vancouver island summer juices. Our first summer in a few years where we get to experience the seasons change and the joy the sun brings us soggy rainforest dogs as we come out of hiding.”
