Iggy Azalea has opened up about the real story behind her short but profitable stint on OnlyFans, and the private health battle she was facing at the time. In an interview with Nightline about her new chapter as a “crypto entrepreneur,” Azalea revealed she earned a “life-changing” sum from the platform, though she stressed it wasn’t the rumored $48 million sites claimed in 2024.
“I’m no fool. I got paid before I even made the profile. I was the top that year and honestly didn’t have to do much,” she said. “It’s not $48 million, but it’s a little lower—and it was enough to fund the businesses I wanted to build.”
Azalea launched her OnlyFans in January 2023 for her “Hotter Than Hell” project, which was tied to a planned album before she retired from music the following year. Charging $25 a month, she quickly became one of the platform’s highest-earning creators, all while quietly battling a severe health issue.
Behind the scenes, she was dealing with nerve damage in her legs that developed into an infection requiring months of IV treatments through a PICC line. “I ended up with a chronically non-healing wound,” she said. “We’d take the PICC line out, shoot hot bikini pictures for a couple days, and then put it back in. I turned lemons into lemonade.”
Her health struggles weren’t new—back surgery in 2022 had sidelined her from touring and left her barely able to walk for weeks.
However much she made during her time on OnlyFans, it was enough for her to leave her music career behind her. Azalea says she’s enjoying life, having turned a difficult period into a lucrative fresh start. Using OnlyFans as a springboard into new ventures is no easy feat, while Hip-Hop peers like Bhad Bhabie tend to treat the platform more as a rebound. The move may prove strategic as Azalea ventures into cryptocurrency.
