A six-bedroom, 9,314-square-foot mansion on a 7.34-acre property in Burr Ridge has been listed for $10 million.
Known as Saddle Hill Farm and located just inside the Cook County portion of Burr Ridge, the gated estate features a main house, coach house and equestrian grounds. Built in 1946, the main house has 6 1/2 bathrooms, an eat-in chef’s kitchen, a great room with custom woodwork, a first-floor office and a first-floor primary bedroom suite. Other features include a finished lower level with a rec room, a back terrace, a two-bedroom coach house with a full bath and a kitchen, along with stables, a fenced riding area with lighting, a tennis court, a hot tub and walking paths.
The estate is owned by Jacqueline Laase Portillo. She and then-husband Beau Parrillo bought the main, more than four-acre part of the estate, including where the mansion stands, in 2002 for $1.65 million. The couple then paid $1.8 million in 2007 for an adjoining, 3-acre tract.
Parrillo listed it recently in a private, agents-only network, although listing information — including a video — can be found online.
If the estate sells for anywhere near its asking price, it would represent the highest sale ever in Burr Ridge, where up to now the highest sale is the $6.9 million sale in 2022 of a six-bedroom, 17,120-square-foot house to Carmela Wallace, the mother of the late rapper Juice WRLD. Wallace also bought a 2-acre parcel next door for $1.4 million at the same time, making her total outlay $8.3 million.
The highest sale on record in nearby Hinsdale is the $7.675 million purchase in 2020 by Information Resources CEO Andrew Appel of a five-bedroom, 17,581-square-foot mansion.
Listing agent Megan McCleary told Elite Street that Saddle Hill Farm “is an iconic estate” with “outstanding curb appeal.”
“People in this area know the home and have admired it over the years,” she said. “It’s the only property that exists of this size and magnitude just 20 miles from downtown Chicago and that feeds into highly regraded Hinsdale schools. It is also the last gentleman’s farm in this area that has grandfathered-in horse rights. The majestic main house, charming coach house and incredible grounds provide so many options for whoever is fortunate to call this home.”
The Cook County assessor values the two parcels at $2.673 million. The estate had a combined $57,929 property tax bill in the 2023 tax year.
