General Motors recalls another 462,000 trucks over crash hazard days after thousands of cars affected by explosion risk

NEARLY 500,000 cars have been recalled after a dangerous tire issue saw drivers swerving off the road and smashing into nearby properties.

General Motors is urging drivers to take their pickup trucks and large SUVs to the shop after realizing they have a defunct transmission.

Around 462,000 cars have been recalled, and the models affected include the Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra 1500, 2500, and 3500 pickups from the 2020 through 2022 model years.

The 2021 Cadillac Escalade, GMC Yukon, Chevrolet Tahoe, and Suburban were also affected by the shock recall.

All of these models have a transmission control valve that could wear out over time and make shifting gears more difficult, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said Wednesday.

At first, the car may feel a little stuck when shifting gears, but the wheels can be fully hindered as the situation worsens.

At least 11 drivers veered off the road because their back wheels froze, and some slammed into nearby properties.

And three minor injuries were reported because of the issue, according to documents released by the NHTSA.
