The move comes just 24 hours after Biden was caught calling Trump fans “garbage”.

Biden referred to comedian Tony Hinchcliffe’s words at a New York City Trump rally at Madison Square Garden in which he called Puerto Rico a “floating island of garbage.”

During a Zoom with Voto Latino the president said: “The only garbage I see floating out there is his supporter’s – his demonization of Latinos is unconscionable, and it’s un-American.”

Democrats quickly scrambled to fix bumbling Biden’s gaffe as they attempted to blame the comments on bad grammar.

Biden later put out a statement insisting he meant to blast Hinchcliffe’s “hateful rhetoric” against Puerto Rico as “garbage”.

Kamala Harris condemned Biden’s contentious remarks as she said: “I strongly disagree with any criticism of people based on who they vote for.

“I will be a president for all Americans whether you vote for me or not.”

Donald Trump first heard about Biden’s comments as he was speaking at a rally of his own.

The Republican presidential nominee was joined by Florida Senator Marco Rubio who informed him and fans of Biden’s words.

“I wasn’t going to say anything, but I have breaking news for you, Mr. President, you may not have heard this,” Rubio said.

“Just moments ago, Joe Biden stated that our supporters are garbage.”

Trump then shared his shock response which called on his supporters to forgive the current president.

Firstly, he reminded his fans what Hillary Clinton said about them in 2016.

“Remember Hillary? She said deplorable, and then she said irredeemable right but she said deplorable, that didn’t work out,” Trump said.

“Garbage I think is worse right?

“But he doesn’t know. You have to please forgive him.”

There is now just six days to go until the US election with voters and onlookers eager to know who will win.

Currently, most polls show that Trump and Kamala Harris will be on a knife edge going into the final days of the gruelling election campaign.

A difference of just 1% between the two candidates is currently being reported by The New York Times.

Harris has a national polling average of 49% while Trump is close behind at 48%.

With polls as close as this, Americans will likely face a nail-biting wait to see who will be their next leader.
