The budget store has released their own red, heart-shaped bowl for just $1.25.
The large bowls are perfect for “crafters and party planners”, and big enough to fit cookies, popcorn or candy.
And on the Dollar Tree website, delighted shoppers expressed their happiness over finding the product.
“I found these today in-store and I bought them with a smile on my face,” one person gushed.
“They will make perfect gift baskets!”
“Love these bowls perfect for Valentine’s Day gifts,” another said.
While others left their thoughts about the bowls with five star reviews.
The Dollar Tree option is even more covetable considering that it’s a whopping 37 per cent cheaper than a very similar one at Walmart.
That one comes in at $1.98.
“This plastic bowl comes in the shape of a heart for a fun and festive addition to your home!” Walmart wrote of the “seasonal and festive” bowl on their website.
“Sprinkle in your favorite potpourri or some dried rose petals, or fill it with candy or chocolate!
“Set it on the coffee table as a lovely centerpiece, set it out for dinner parties, or add it to the refreshment table at your Valentine’s Day bash.”
Valentine’s Day is fast approaching, as it’s celebrated annually on February 14.
It’s believed to have initially been established back in 496AD, as a feast day to honour Saint Valentine – a clergyman who ministered to persecuted Christians.
However, over the years it has become an occasion to mark people’s love for one another – with cards, balloons, flowers and chocolates among the most commonly given gifts.
It’s therefore one of the most lucrative days of the year for shops including Dollar Tree and Walmart.
Dollar Tree pricing
Despite the name of the store, Dollar Tree recently added items that cost more than $1 to its inventory.
Most items at the store cost no more than $1.25, but items in the Dollar Tree Plus section cost up to $5.
Dollar Tree introduced Plus aisles to 100 locations in 2019 as part of an effort to diversify its products.
By 2022, Dollar Tree had added the items to over 1,500 locations.
“We believe testing additional price points above $1 for Dollar Tree products will enable us over time to expand our assortments, introduce new products and meet more of our customers’ everyday needs,” president and CEO Michael Witynski said in a statement.
“Our brand promise is that customers get great value for what they spend at Dollar Tree. We will continue to be fiercely protective of that promise, regardless of the price point.”
In fact, in 2024, consumers are estimated to have spent a whopping $25.8 billion on the romantic holiday, with the average shopper spending $185.81.
Among Dollar Tree’s most popular Valentine’s offerings are wall signs, figurines and tinsel garlands – all perfect to deck out a romantic table.
