A big complaint was posted to X recently by a shopper that claimed her local Dollar General ‘needs better service.’
But if that wasn’t enough, the customer noted that the store had also run out of a shopping necessity.

In a post on X, the shopper addressed the company directly and shared an image.
“The @DollarGeneral in South Bay, FL.”
The post continued, “It needs better service.”
“This store is cluttered and looks like a storage shed.”
Frustrated, the customer continued, alongside an image posted that read, ‘WE HAVE NO BAGS.’
She then shared, “Now they have no bags.”
The post finished with, “Really, are they gonna help us carry them out?”
The post soon caught the attention of Dollar General.
Dollar General replied to the original post, saying, “We appreciate you bringing this to our attention, Karen.”
They then followed up, “Could you kindly share the exact address for the location you’re referring to?”
Karen soon responded to the reply, sharing details of the store in question.
Digital Labels 101
Digital or electronic shelf labels have quickly become popular among retailers due to the amout of benefits it brings to brands and their employees.
Digital labels are wireless display systems that stores use to show product prices.
Often the labels are attached to the front of a retail shelf and once applied, it is digitally connected to the store’s point-of-service system, reducing the price of management labor costs.
The labels have also allowed retailers to introduce dynamic pricing, which has been controversial among shoppers.
Dynamic pricing is when a business sets flexible prices based on current market demands.
Digital labels can also:
Let shoppers know if a product is in limited supply
Shows the online prices of competitors, to inform shoppers if they’re getting a good deal
Allow ordering with QR codes
Display reviews of a product

“310 E Palm Beach Rd, South Bay, FL 33493, she shared.”
The discount store then followed up, “Thanks, Karen.”
“Please know that we have shared your post with the appropriate members of our team,” the post finished.
After this response, there were no further replies.
It might be too early to tell whether the store has been cleaned up or if any maintenance plans for the store are underway.
This isn’t the first time the retailer has come under fire.
Recently, Dollar General came under fire for a ‘nasty’ store after a bug infestation.
