Bill Belichick’s family shades Jordon Hudson for CBS interview

Bill Belichick’s daughter-in-law seems none too pleased with his girlfriend Jordon Hudson, shading the 24-year-old for her behavior during the Super Bowl winner’s awkward new CBS interview as former Patriots Julian Edelman and Rob Gronkowski defended Hudson.

The former New England Patriots coach, 73, released a statement Wednesday explaining that Hudson was not trying to “control” his “CBS Sunday Morning” interview that aired this weekend. Belichick’s statement comes after Tony Dokoupil asked how the controversial couple met and Hudson said off-camera, “We’re not talking about this.”

Despite Belichick defending the former cheerleader as just “doing her job to ensure the interview stayed on track” to focus on his upcoming book.

Jennifer Schmitt, who is married to Belichick’s eldest son Steve, slammed Hudson for acting in anything but “a professional manner” in the comments section of Gronk and Edelman’s clip from their “Dudes on Dudes” podcast. During the clip, both NFL stars said Hudson was acting as any publicist would.

Comedian Nikki Glaser agreed in the comments section: “Publicists do this during interviews. People are out for blood.”

It was then that Schmitt jumped in, responding to Glaser’s remark: “Publicists act in a professional manner and don’t ‘storm’ off set delaying an interview.”

One user followed up by asking if it was “safe to say you don’t approve? Lol,” though Schmitt has yet to respond to that one. Her Instagram profile is currently set to private.

Insiders told TMZ earlier this week that Hudson stormed out of the interview, delaying it for 30 minutes.

In a statement released Wednesday by the University of North Carolina, where Belichick now serves as head football coach, he said he and Hudson “share both a personal and professional relationship.”

Per Belichick, he’d “repeatedly” told his publicist at publisher Simon & Schuster, as well as Dokoupil and CBS producers that he only wanted to discuss “The Art of Winning – Lessons from My Life in Football.”

Hudson cut in when Dokoupil asked how they met, which the two have said occurred during a 2021 flight to Florida. “We have been open about” that, said Belichick.

Belichick and Hudson’s relationship was confirmed last June, though they’ve reportedly been together since 2022, shortly after he ended things with longtime love Linda Holliday.

All of Belichick’s kids, including Amanda and Patriots safeties coach Brian, are older than Hudson.
