You never know what will come out of a press tour these days, but learning that Pedro Pascal told Dakota Johnson she should create an OnlyFans account was a shock to the interviewer Johnson spoke to earlier this month.
The actress, best known for her lead role in Fifty Shades of Grey, spoke about her conversation with her co-star in the upcoming rom-com Materialists, saying: “Pedro Pascal told me that I should have an OnlyFans and that I could just like wiggle my toe and make money.”
She continued: “Should I do that?”
Johnson was likely joking, as she admitted that she wasn’t actually familiar with the subscription-based platform best known for its explicit content.
“I don’t know. OnlyFans is the place where people go to watch people do weird things? Are OnlyFans models hot? Are they different to regular models?”
Johnson continued: “I feel like I would look at OnlyFans models on Instagram if I knew how to do that. It sounds interesting. Sounds intriguing.”
Despite her conversation with Pascal, it’s doubtful Johnson will join the roster of actress-turned-OnlyFans stars the likes of Denise Richards, Cardi B, Drea de Matteo, and Lily Allen.
The press tour also revealed that Johnson had no memory of her first meeting with Pascal at the Golden Globes over a decade before they filmed their new movie.
“It was the Golden Globes 2014. “It wasn’t during the ceremony; it was the after bit, when they usher you out and you go directly into some kind of HBO party. You knew Sarah [Paulson] and so [you] met me, and you were on your own. They probably wouldn’t give you a plus-one. So, we banded together, and we looked after you.” Pascal explained.
Johnson admitted that she didn’t remember: “That’s so crazy that I don’t remember meeting you there,” she said. “It feels like something substantial happened to me that night and I’m blocking it out.”
But Johnson does recall meeting Pascal at the Met Gala — only Pascal didn’t remember that interaction fondly.
“I loved you the first time and then I didn’t think you were that nice to me at the Met Gala,” Pascal explained. “You weren’t mean, but I was building the interaction of having already met you. And I had a moment of feeling a little stupid because it was like, ‘Oh, she doesn’t remember me.’”
Johnson does remember that time, but insisted that she did like Pascal from that moment (even if she didn’t remember meeting him initially) — she just doesn’t like the Met Gala.
“I find the Met Gala is like The Twilight Zone,” she said. “I don’t know what the f— is going on. I don’t feel I connect with any human beings in a real way; it’s like going into some sort of vortex.”
But it’s clear the two are comfortable with each other now, as apparently they’ve had the same conversation many times.
“This is maybe the 37th time we’ve had this conversation. The 37th time Pedro makes me feel like an absolute piece of s— for not remembering him,” Johnson admitted. “My first impression of you was: ‘Wow, this guy is so cool. What a nice man that I’ve definitely never met before.’ And then I loved you very quickly.”
