Recently, Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott cam out in support of his head coach Mike McCarthy.

McCarthy is widely expected to be on the chopping block this offseason, but it seems that his players aren’t in agreement.

“I believe in him wholeheartedly,” Prescott told Yahoo Sports.

“I don’t want to necessarily get into the nuts and the screws of it all obviously, but I think he definitely deserves a chance.

“Another contract and a chance to coach this team amongst more influence. ‘On his terms’ may be a good way to say it.”

Stephen A. was quick to disagree with Prescott’s sentiment and shared his thoughts on First Take.

“I will tell you what I feel,” he said.

“I can give less than a damn about what Dak Prescott had to say about that.

“Why don’t you go out there and win for him? Wouldn’t be a discussion.

“You’ve been the starting quarterback for the Dallas Cowboys for nine years. You got two playoff victories to show for it.

“You have the ability to go out there and shut everybody up.”

Prescott currently can’t quiet the haters, Stephen A. included, because he is down for the season with an injury.

Stephen A. isn’t completely wrong though, Prescott hasn’t done much to bring the Cowboys back to their Super Bowl-winning ways.

Prescott has played a few statistically spectacular seasons in his career, last year being one of them.

He passed for 4,516 yards with 36 touchdowns and just nine interceptions.

Prescott has nothing to show for it though. He hasn’t even made an appearance in the Super Bowl.

Jerry Jones gave him a massive new contract extension for his strong play, but next he has to show up in the playoffs.

The biggest question is if McCarthy is the right coach to lead them there.

Certainly, Stephen A. doesn’t think so. No one knows what Jones is thinking though.

Fans will likely only find out if McCarthy is being fired the moment it happens.
