Tom Brady interrupts Fox NFL partner to tell him ‘you were supposed to skip that’ after bringing up Thanksgiving blunder

TOM Brady was reminded of an embarrassing moment during his NFL career by Fox partner Kevin Burkhardt.

The 47-year-old was calling his first Thanksgiving game for the network on Thursday.

And it came 24 years after he made his playing debut as a New England Patriots quarterback.

Brady and Burkhardt were at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas to call the Dallas Cowboys against the New York Giants.

Fox NFL host Curt Menefee welcomed them to the pregame show by bringing up Brady’s debut in the year 2000.

He stepped into the game late on for Drew Bledsoe with the Patriots being blown out by the Detroit Lions.

The seven-time Super Bowl champion discussed his first NFL completion, a six-yard gain to tight end Rob Rutledge.

But his broadcast partner Burkhardt reminded him of a less fulfilling moment.

“You told me that your second pass was almost a pick six to the house,” Burkhardt said.

And Brady interrupted to tell him, “You were supposed to skip that part.”

Burkhardt was on the defensive in the exchange that followed.

“We’re being thankful that it wasn’t – that’s the whole idea,” the lead play-caller said.

Brady then demonstrated his photographic memory from his debut 24 years ago.

“The first pass was doinked off of JR Redmond’s helmet,” he recalled.

“The second one I almost threw a pick six.

“But he third one I finally completed to Rod Rutledge.

“It was a low point, but it was all uphill from there.”

What rules Brady must stick too

Here is a list of the rules Tom Brady must comply to…

Not permitted to be in another team’s facility
Not permitted to witness practice
Not permitted to attend broadcast production meetings, either in person or virtually
Prohibited from publicly criticizing game officials and other teams
Subject to the league’s gambling policy
Subject to the league’s anti-tampering policies, limiting him to “strictly social communication with members of other clubs”

And Burkhardt agreed, “Yeah, I think it worked out OK for you.”

Brady went on to win seven Super Bowls and is widely considered the greatest player of all time.

He is in the first year of his $375 million deal with Fox.

And Brady had a comical reaction last weekend on Fox NFL Sunday when Michael Strahan and Menefee told him he has to work Thanksgiving.

But Brady and Burkhardt have Sunday off with the top Fox pairing not placed on any of the network’s five games.
