‘We’re feeling great’: Broward elections head confident county is ready for smooth Election Day

Preparations for Election Day have been underway for quite a while in Broward County.

“We have been working on this, and planning and preparing for this, obviously, for the last two years,” said Broward County Elections Supervisor Joe Scott.

So that hopefully and prayerfully, Scott and an army of elections workers, some 4,000 strong, spread out across more than 350 Broward county precincts, pull off another smooth election.

“I think we’ve planned well, and that we are prepared to have a successful Election Day, tomorrow,” said Scott. “Everything’s pretty much in motion. At this point, we’re just getting everything set up and making the final preparations to make sure we’re prepared to open at 7 o’clock, tomorrow.”

Prepared to possibly receive an additional 300,000 in-person voters.

Remember, you have to go to your assigned precinct on Election Day, and vote-by-mail ballots can still be dropped off at the county’s nine designated sites.

A large number of those are also expected to come in Monday and Tuesday.

“We’re feeling great,” said Scott. “We certainly have enough people, we have enough equipment.”

They also have a fleet of trucks that are under constant security, prepared to transport each and every ballot back to headquarters for counting.
