Allison Mack, the “Smallville” actress who served as a recruiter for Keith Raniere’s sadistic sex cult, NXIVM, said her “I dos” during a recent wedding ceremony in Los Angeles, according to reports.
Mack traded vows with her beau, a man TMZ identified only as Frank, earlier this month. They reportedly got engaged around Christmas last year. According to the gossip website, the pair met at a dog park shortly after Mack’s 21-month stint behind bars at FCI Dublin, a low-security women’s prison in California, where actresses Lori Loughlin and Felicity Huffman also did time for their roles in a high-profile college admissions scandal.
Mack found some fame in the early 2000s after appearing as multiple characters in the DC comics-inspired “Smallville,” most notably Chloe Sullivan, close friend to a young Clark Kent. She was still working on the show, which ran from 2001 to 2011, when she attended her first NXIVM meeting in 2007.
Following the series’ wrap, she moved to New York, where she started to attend meetings more regularly. The following year, in 2012, she moved to Albany, where the group had been based, further dedicating herself to Raniere, who, in turn, used her status as a minor celebrity to convince others to join.
Actress and accused sex cult recruiter Allison Mack leaves Brooklyn Federal Court after being charged with sex trafficking on April 24, 2018.
Eventually, Mack would go on to become one of eight top-level “masters” within DOS, a secret NXIVM subgroup known also as “The Vow.” It was filled with “slaves” and “masters,” with Raniere forcing women involved to maintain starvation diets and have sex with him. They were also branded with his initials.
Mack was arrested for her involvement in 2018 and pleaded guilty the following year to various crimes, including extortion and forced labor. Under federal sentencing guidelines, the actress faced 14 to 17 and a half years behind bars, but was sentenced to just 3 years due to her cooperation with the investigation and criminal proceedings.
She was sprung early from federal lockup in July 2023, after serving 1 year, 9 months, and 20 days..
“I am sorry to those of you that I brought into NXIVM,” Mack said at the time. “I am sorry I ever exposed you to the nefarious and emotionally abusive schemes of a twisted man. I am sorry that I encouraged you to use your resources to participate in something that was ultimately so ugly.”
Mack was previously married from 2017 to 2020 to Nicki Clyne — a fellow actress who was also involved in NXIVM.
Raniere, meanwhile, is currently serving a 120-year prison sentence at United States Penitentiary, Tucson.
