The business owner had his livelihood ruined by the criminals who stole seven cars from his lot in Pitt County.

Beamon said: “They took my cars and changed my livelihood, flipped it all over.

“I hope they find some way to do better in their life.”

Unfortunately the incident was an irredeemable blow to the business and a heartbroken Beamon had to close and file for bankruptcy.

Surveillance cameras at Farmville showed two men wearing dark outfits and hoods creeping onto the property.

Footage showed one man racing off in a car parked on the street and the other speeding away in one of the stolen vehicles.

Beamon couldn’t believe how nonchalant the criminals looked sauntering around his property.

The dealership owner added: “This video infuriates me.

“I’m angry because I’m sitting here watching these guys just walk around in my lot, like they’re shopping for cars.”

D&S Auto Source is a small dealership with only 20 cars on show and 35 in inventory.

Beamon couldn’t believe he was targeted over a bigger dealership with more cars.

He suspects it might be the size and flashy style of the vehicles that made him a target.

“I never thought of us as a big, fancy lot where this could happen,” he said.

President of the North Carolina Automobile Dealer Association John Policastro warns thefts like this are becoming increasingly common.

He said “The past few years, we’ve seen an increasing amount of theft, especially high-dollar thefts.”

Policastro explained car dealerships are at risk as they’ve already paid for the motors being targeted.

Organized crime rings will target dealerships and will get there hands on as many cars as possible at one time.

He advises dealership owners to install advanced surveillance systems, effective lighting to enhance CCTV, and key security.
