6- Daufuskie Island. Dafuskie Island is the southernmost inhabited South Carolina Sea Island, between Savannah and Hilton Head Island. This old-world island is accessible only by boat or ferry. The island has very few paved roads and is home to a Gullah community, who makes up most of the 400-person population.
