In this episode of This Is Not A Travel Show, Marco hikes into the Swiss Alps near Andermatt to find out why. Marco loves finding out why people do the things they do. Sometimes, the answers are found high up in the mountains. For the first episode of This Is Not A Travel Show, Marco hikes to the Sidelen Hut in the Swiss Alps to meet Orlando and Silvia Gisler, the couple who call it home for an entire season. Together they talk about life above the tree line, the beauty and challenges of running a mountain hut, and why some places are worth the effort it takes to reach them. Along the way, Marco explains the unwritten rules of hut life, attempts to blend into the mountain landscape, and takes the whole thing perhaps a little too seriously. Because this is not a travel show. It’s a show about Swiss mountain huts. Well… at least for this episode. 📍 This trip took place in the Andermatt region. Marco is an author, spoken word artist and podcaster from Thun – and happiest somewhere in the mountains without reception.
